MATAR was established by Ami Amir in 1993 and soon became one of the leading production companies in Israel with over 40 produced television series, ranging from comedy and satire to drama and factual. 

Our diverse programming has received critical acclaim, high ratings, and prestigious local and international awards (Israeli Academy Award, Rose d`Ors, Wolgin, etc.)

In 2007 MATAR joined forces with McCann Erickson, the largest advertising company in Israel.  This relationship has allowed for substantial investments in the development of new content and talent, and placed the company now known as MATAR Universal at the top of its industry.

MATAR Universal`s main focus is on developing and producing original & unique content for television, film and internet, both within Israel and in an international market.
